On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, Minnesota will hold a state-wide primary election with candidates for federal, state, and local office vying for their party’s nomination and a place on the ballot this November.

Now that the 2026 legislative session is in the rearview mirror, legislators are looking toward the 2026 election.

The Minnesota Legislature wrapped up the 2026 legislative session just before midnight on Sunday, May 17th having passed the handful of major initiatives included in the “global deal” announced by Gov. Walz and legislative leaders earlier in the week.
