The Minnesota Legislature wrapped up the 2026 legislative session just before midnight on Sunday, May 17th having passed the handful of major initiatives included in the “global deal” announced by Gov. Walz and legislative leaders earlier in the week.
With just a week remaining before the Minnesota Legislature’s constitutional deadline to adjourn, both chambers continue to process significant policy and appropriation proposals.
The month of May brings the end of the legislative session, as there are only two weeks until the Minnesota Legislature’s May 18, 2026 deadline to adjourn for the year.
