Larkin Hoffman Launches New Ancillary Service: Larkin Hoffman Public Affairs
Larkin Hoffman has launched a new ancillary service, Larkin Hoffman Public Affairs (LHPA), which will bring together the firm’s growing capabilities in government relations and public affairs, including association management, grassroots coordination and strategic communications.
The LHPA team provides comprehensive services at all levels of government. Whether clients are engaging with city councils, county boards, the Minnesota State Legislature, or the United States Congress, this team has the experience and relationships needed to support their efforts. As an ancillary service of Larkin Hoffman, the LHPA team is supported by several of the firm’s attorneys and administrative staff and complements Larkin Hoffman’s legal practices.
“Over time, our government relations practice has evolved into a full-service firm that can provide guidance to our clients in many new areas,” noted Larkin Hoffman Public Affairs Managing Director, Margaret Vesel. “Putting our services together in Larkin Hoffman Public Affairs allows us to provide the capabilities our clients need to achieve their goals in government matters and to get their messages to important audiences including potential supporters and voters.”
To learn more about the background for our new service and our long-term capabilities, please listen to the first edition of the Larkin Hoffman Public Affairs Podcast by clicking here. The podcast features Managing Director Margaret Vesel and Matthew Bergeron, a member of the LHPA board and service provider in many of the practice areas, interviewed by Bill Griffith, a veteran of the firm’s government relations practice and a member of the LHPA team.
“Larkin Hoffman has had an active government relations practice for decades,” said the firm’s president, Paul R. Smith. “The team we have developed is capable of doing much more. The time is right to expand our services to meet our clients’ diverse needs in the fast-moving world of public affairs. LHPA will offer business guidance in public affairs and work with the firm to provide our clients with the most comprehensive set of services in the market. We couldn’t be more excited to launch this new enterprise!”
Margaret Vesel and most of the team are based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Other professionals in that office include Andrew Carlson, Grady Harn, Brandan Strickland, Julia Page and Lydia Lodoen. Megan Knight will manage the firm’s federal affairs from her base in Washington, DC. Larkin Hoffman’s attorneys are based in Minneapolis.
In addition to the new services offered by LHPA, many of our standard offerings from the past decades will remain. CapWatch, the long-time publication providing up-to-date news on activities of interest to our clients at the Minnesota State Capitol, will be published by LHPA. In addition, we will continue to produce Minnesota state election previews and post-election summaries.
